The new trailer is really exciting, and there was no question I'd be seeing the new movie. I've seen every Star Trek movie as it came out since Star Trek III (too bad my parents didn't take me to see Star Trek II -- Khan would've been a much better first experience).

So I'm a fan. But I'm not really a J.J. Abrams fan. I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'm already irritated by some things that I've heard, and the fact that Abrams seems to be proud of not being a fan is worrisome to me. But I still have a glimmer of hope that this reset is just what the franchise needs. We'll see!
