OK first things first - and most importantly - the Blur gig in Hyde Park tonight was moving, amazing, affirmative and sad. Daft Punk have had serious competition tonight, becuase although everyone only moshed to Song2, Daft Punk has never moved me close to tears with songs I've heard a hundred times with new layers of pathos and sadness. This Is A Low watching the moon, Sunday Sunday going 1000bpm, spazzing out to Advert and Popscene and a hopeful Universal at the end were highlights for me.

But it also was the last ever Blur gig, in England at least, and London. Damon announced tonight that they weren't sure even upto last night but this was the last ever for England, their homeland.

They then launched into a mournful and moving version of Death of A Party. Seemed definite to me.

So it sounds like this reunion is short lived, and will be the end of Blur. Thanks Damon, Graham, Dave and Alex for all the good times and memories, along with Pulp and New Order they really are the soundtrack of my youth, along with Kirk and James my oldest friends.

On a less good note some evil shit pickpocketed me in the Quebec drink afterwards - losing my wallet, 35 quid and 20 euros, and my cards. They're all cancelled and I .have some money from Kirk, but still, can you send out some evils and pagan curses and and bad karma to the queen who lifted my wallet. Hope he dies in some gutter somewhere soon.
