Don't oversleep on the Caledonian Sleeper because you'll end up stranded on an empty train being shunted out the depot...!

Not a great start although I had fun pulling the Emergency stop for the first and hopefully last time in my life.

So Inverness - according to John "it's always wet in Inverness" & it seems not to want to disabuse me from this meteorlogical slur at the moment.

If I describe Inverness as a wetter, more Scotian Telford (ironic since that town is named after a Scot who built the Caledonian Canal here) I don't know if most of you would get the reference. Certainly although unlike that dreadful town Inverness has history in droves, it seems to have scuppered it with shopping centres, Victorian uber-kitsch & a closed Museum since July.

I even did the city bus tour out of boredom and they were struggling to find stuff of note.

So onward to Ullapool.
