I'm so SAD
Dec. 8th, 2005 12:04 pmIt's a cold, dark grey day in London and I'm starting to wonder if my seasonal depression needs treatment or I should move to a warmer clime...thing is it's never been as bad as this but after a very unusually warm and good summer the winter has hit hard here, and my sleep patterns are all over the place. I literally start hibernating (the bear connection is much deeper than sexual preference it seems) and oversleeping - the cultural thing I've faced since school is that 'you're lazy' or 'can't be bothered' - which is partly true due to the depression but such seasonal/serotonin based fluctuations and oversleeping are never treat as serious.
That said the doctors only offer you drugs, and that I don't need.
And certainly it isn't as serious as compared to friends who are on various medications; it's mainly annoying and tiring rather than life-destroying (although it had more ramifications when I had permanent employment) but their experience puts me off going that route.
