Just finished watching Braindead aka Dead Alive by Peter Jackson. Utter brilliant gore-fest, and seriously funny. If you like Evil Dead, you'll like this, but it's like Evil Dead on steroids, writ LARGE and very psychedelic!
I want to see Bad Taste and Heavenly Creatures now - how could he have made both? At the time it surprised me, even so more after the yawn-Tolkien-fanficfest that was LOTR.
Not sure I still see the point though...
