Callanish isn't actually one stone circle, there are at least 2 other stone circles nearby and probably a lot more, looking around the landscape you could see other areas where landmarks or geography could lead to other ones - but with the rising peat who would find them? The whole area is dotted with the ones that have been found as is.

A wonderfully strange day that one - high wind, high sunshine, wandering between the circles and suddenly it made sense where they are as soon as you get away from the tourist trap and onto the others, in relation to the loch.

ooh I didn't know that...but I suppose if they didn't Runrig would've....and that's a far more worrying prospect.
