OK if my neighbours play loud music and shout outside til 2am (or later, the night is young), can I legally kill them?

Seriously what can I do? Complained to the landlord enough times and it makes no difference - but the council won't investigate without a 'noise diary'

Sigh.

Just had to shout at them from my window, they weren't answering the door (left it open!?!) so decided it best not to enter. They seem to have shut up now, but it's annoying since I'm all adrenalined up now and feel bad for having to shout at them, still they were taking the piss with loud music and shouting in the back garden at 2am (which actually annoys the next door neighbour next to the house)! This is a very residential neighbourhood, kids and families, it's not really party central.

Maybe they should invite their neighbours next time (they did about a month ago, so I ignored the noise).

I needed some fantasy and escapism on a cold wet Sunday, so went to see a late showing of Golden Compass - place was fairly empty, so got the front of the cinema to myself.

The verdict? Well better than I expected but not as good as I hoped. Worth seeing though. Not surprised at the Kate Bush ending song, she's written so many songs about young girls growing up, religion and so forth. But it was visually amazing if it lost some of the magic and soul of the book.

EDIT: Interesting that one review in IMDB I'm reading now I've written this says it's a rainy afternoon movie - swap afternoon with evening and I'll agree! It's caught between inane kids blockbuster and thoughtful movie of an incredible book, a difficult path that even Harry Potter found hard to tread...I do feel they rushed it and dumbed it down, though.
