Not Being Able To Create Art They Will Not Understand Art

I just turned 40 and it was a busy weekend...non-stop drinking, partying, and eating pretty much ;-) so here's the photos from the weekend...first I went to Bootie London on the Friday:

Great to see A+D again! They were DJing, particularly loved Adrian's live bits, and he gave me a birthday shout out on the mic at the end! :-D

A great party, and I got very, very, drunk and stayed til 3am. Which meant only 3 1/2 hours sleep til:



The BBQ at James's house. Me and Kirk went to this before the 40th birthday meal and drinks because a mutual friend Glynn was over from Oz and it was all double booked before I got my act together - so this way got to see James and Glynn on my birthday! Amazingly good weather too, I actually got burned although it was a little chilly the sun was out in force.

Then onto the meal - at Bodeans. Yes two BBQ meals in one day...I probably didn't plan it that well, but it was a good meal. For some reason everyone kept middle-fingering the camera...

So after being totally stuffed on pulled pork, burnt ends, ribs etc. we stumbled off late to the drinks at The Salisbury in St Martin's Lane. I was in my kilt and the bouncer almost didn't let me in! More people were meeting us here, including Mauro (Notch) and his friend Eric (I think that was his name?) and Steve holy13nation - really glad to see them both as I'd not seen either in a long time, and I know Steve was almost not able to make it out.

My friend Ian and Naomi did know I was coming and they did bake me a cake! Henceforth known as the Bathtub Cake for obvious reasons. Not tried it yet, my stomach has been a little, well, upset since this big weekend but will try it tonight, it's a chocolate cake and smells delicious. There was a mishap with the candles....LOL

After me and Steve went off to the Quebec where he fed me Jaeger Bombs in an attempt to get me blind drunk. He didn't succeed ;-)



Sunday? Well most of Sunday didn't happen for the obvious reasons. I managed to get out of bed and get out and meet Ersson, a friend of A+D's who is visiting London and took me to Candy Bar which I'd never been to:



So I spent my actual birthday in a lesbian bar, and it was ace! Music was great, company was great, the dykes didn't seem to mind me and I was totally invisible, none of the weirdness you get in a gay-male bar.



Ersson is lovely and she enjoyed Duckie (my recommendation as she was wondering what to do on the Saturday) so much she wants to go back, and will be back in London so hopefully we'll go out together again then!

Overall a great weekend, but boy am I feeling it today. I rarely do one late night drinking session, not 3 in a row...
