Gloomy Sunday...

Sunday is gloomy, my hours are slumberless
Dearest the shadows I live with are numberless
Little white flowers will never awaken you
Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you
Angels have no thought of ever returning you
Would they be angry if I thought of joining you?
Err, it's not exactly *that* bad although I love that song, although it has the spectre of death associated with it.
But anyway it is a gloomy sunday, it's been raining and dark all day; and I had an odd dream. I dreamt that me and my father were trapped by a giant flood a la New Orleans or the SE Asia Tsunami, and we had to float downstream of this overflowing river to safety on a couple of mosty submerged sofa-chairs (and rest of our stuff on a floating mattress) that were floating badly and eventually we both fell asleep.
When I awoke my dad had drifted off or separated and I remember paddling like fury around now stranded yachts to find him, and thinking we should have tied the chairs together - in fact when I went back to sleep I sort of rewinded and did this and all was well.
BTW I NEVER dream, or *never* remember them (same thing) so when I do it always freaks me out. Ditto dreaming about people, which I never used to do, and now do more and more recently. Odd.
last night was most productive, did not one but two bootlegs using Boards of Canada's great album 'Campire Headphase' - HIGHLY recommended. Both tbc (my chilled mix moniker) mixes and one is mighty fine...depends how I feel to finish that one, I keave it a day or two and listen to the demo and see how I feel.
Biggest tip to all wannabe mashup artists - never release your tracks immediately however proud/drunk/eager you are; live with it a while and you'll hear cracks. Otherwise people will tear your work to pieces for technical stuff and miss the point (sadly, they do on certain boards)
Unless you are like a major musician type and can do fancy tricks like tell pitch and key from a 10 second clip or something....and can do it perfect first time. Then I hate you.

Date: 2006-01-09 06:29 pm (UTC)I had several flood dreams post-tsunami and post-hurricane Katrina. I also had scary 9/11 dreams. I'm one of those people who dream often and vividly. It can be fun if it's a good dream -- sometimes if I wake up from it I can make myself go back to see what else happens. But the bad ones are so bad that sometimes I'd rather not dream at all...

By the way, I like the new intro music.
