iRiver woes part 3,445,454

Hmm, still getting fobbed off by Musical Vision - sounds like it's going to be a credit and has been approved by iRiver but the hold up is the guy at their head office is ill and of course NO-ONE ELSE can deal with it. And the guy I've been dealing with was away for 2 weeks and no-one took it on, and it's another 'phone tomorrow' as I've been getting all week.
Actually for the last several weeks.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
It's sunny, warm, and I'm off work early, but this makes me want to throw things.
Hard.
If I don't get joy tomorrow, I'm doing the recorded letter(s), and getting (or finding) the details of these mythical head office fuckers.
Let's see them deal with the nasty letter writer from hell...
Sad thing is I had a feeling this would happen, I don't know anyone who's had the sort of happy smiley let's all skip to lala land experiences with support that crop up on forums when you mention bad things - I suspect it's stealth support staff doing a bit of positive PR rather than working...I gave up on minidiscs because I bought 2 in short sucession which both died, and Sony and Sharp literally couldn't repair them and kept sending them back unfixed until I got bored (5 times to be exact in the case of Sharpserv - and that was the least used and 'youngest' unlike the Sony which probably was wear and tear). I just thought the technology was too flakey to be used (these were top of the range recording models too).
Why is support SO bad? 3-4 weeks turnaround is terrible to start with...let alone 2 months.

“When You Walked Out On Me” and “The Plan (Elisian Version)” by Mimi Parker were on the Shanti Project 2 (benefits the Shanti Project of San Francisco - an AIDS/HIV assistance provider) which featured all female artist including Kristen Hersh. The first Shanti Project disk had three Low songs: “Venus”, “Lazy”, and “Turning Over”. The Low and Mimi songs all ended up on “A Lifetime of Temporary Relief”, but were first on the Shanti Project disks.
I might do a Badman Records podcast. I think that 4AD “lost their edge” and Badman over the past few years has out “4AD”ed 4AD…from music to artwork..everything.
I put the Jazz at the end of the podcast for a reason. It’s pretty long, and I know it’s not everyones bag. I got it right before the podcast and really hadn’t listened to it much, but it fit the playlist. Eh…it’s OK…not great. But the Bad Plus/Happy Apple, Alt Jazz thing has been an important part of the Minneapolis in the past few years.
If you like Atmosphere…you must get the P.O.S., it’s really really good.
