Amszing how the scans just bring out all the detail I KNEW was there but frustratingly I couldn't get printed. Never totally happy with the skin tones in this session, something odd about the balance of the colour of the flashes (it was a college studio so probably ignorant fiddling fingers, or one of the bulbs was going/slightly cooler cos the shadows on one side are greener than the other!) but I quite like the intentionally decoloured look, it fits Kirk rather well:

Moves are afoot to sort out studio space, although if anyone is aware of cheap empty space with only electricity and maybe water going in London, let me know - happy with garage or empty shop spaces, industrial unit or someone's basement going spare, or even as someone suggested today empty houseboat/cargo space. Anywhere really.
Was eyeing up an empty garage in East London...no sign of who owns it, so might try and look it up on the Land Resgistry. What I don't want to do is hire existing photo studio spaces - extremely pricey, but I'm planning to get my own gear (only way of knowing it completely and it being 100% dependable and 'fiddle' free) and I know I like to take my time with my work and a lot of the 'mood' is really in setting up a space for a shoot and having privacy, not random people wandering in every 5 seconds asking stupid questions...
