Sunday morning going slow
I'm talking to the radio
Clothes and records on the floor
Memories of the night before
Out in clubland having fun
And now I'm hiding from the sun
Waiting for a visitor
Though no-one knows I'm here for sure
Dancing laughing
Drinking loving
And now I'm all alone
In bedsit land
My only homeThey played that last night at Duckie - such a great song (and applies atm) I was there with
arthole, Greg, Kirk, Martyn, Laurence and a few other people - was a great night, ended up dancing on the stage - they ended on Babies by Pulp which had me and Kirk pogoing, and that Do it Again song (Baccara?) they always play...horsey! horsey! horsey! COCK! (yes I know that's not the lyrics, for those hard of humour :-P).
Sadly won't now see Jeb until next year sometime; he's off to Oxford and then going back on Tuesday.
Before that I was at Trashpalace for Scott
tga's birthday - good to see him, and John and Stefan from the Night Nurse Show, and also finally meet Jon from Top of the Pods, as well as Rob who was pleasant to see again! I got Scott a metal covers CD and the new Gossip album...
We recorded a £50 Note Xmas show on Friday; went really well but it might not be the Xmas gift you expect, kind of got into a caring/sharing sort of mode and quite downbeat, which I prefer since one of the things I hate about Xmess is the enforced jocularity...I'll be fucking Scrooge if I want, and if anyone tells me to cheer up or have a good time/season/whatever I'll kill...I'm guessing everyone (especially in family situations) pretends to have a really good time, while hating it/their relatives anyway. That's what happened in my house as a kid, which is why I hated it so much, and still do when forced into those situations.
Anyway here's a few pics Scott and I took at the podcast recording (which paradoxically was on Scott's actual birthday!):

The birthday boy wondering whether Baby Jesus would like Slayer or Metallica...

Jeb going for the wifebeater look...

Do Do Do it again...boom boom...oh wrong venue

How Xmassy I look! err...
It was my last big hurrah before the end of the year, I'll be off to Chester next weekend/Xmas to get away then be en-famille* after Xmas...kind of glad since the last week has been hectic (no work though) and Xmas shopping and running around really got to me and I've been short with a few people (shouldn't blame it on it. but being depressed about having no work and no money doesn't help).
* how middle class of you! I've decided to stop trying to slum it and/or be embarassed anyway and become middle class without the pretension...well it's something to aim for :-P
