Return to form, classic etc. After two strangely lame episodes after the massive build - in fact ignoring the massive build and spunking it away on a previously unknown sidetrack, this was a good one.

It looks like Rory is finally having his Mickey moment and getting his shit together, and feels like Amy is also wondering about the Doctor, feels they won't stay with him much longer.

Two or three things bothered me though:

Firstly, Rory spends 2000 years waiting for Amy, doesn't change a jot nor get wiser or more confident. Amy spends 36 years alone and turns into warrior woman who can make sonic screwdrivers...obv. the computer she hacked would help there, but WTF?

Secondly, is Rory still plastic? Why didn't he freak or say anything about the living plastic in the last seven episodes, spot she was plastic, and wait a minute - they had a child? That's some amazing Auton tech! It's like they've forgotten the whole Rory backstory.

Thirdly, as someone said 'if it was my child I'd tear the universe apart' - seems to be a strange lack of maternal instinct on Amy's part. Like they just dropped it.

It's like it's becoming the reverse of the RTD soap opera, where emotions just serve the story at hand rather than the arc. Also getting far too complex for kids, I think he's aiming it at the young teens still watching, or adults but danger of alienating the core fan base, maybe. Tis like he's moved away from the kiddie emotional RTD soap opera into scifi proper...hard to keep the family feel with that one?

Still far better than Miracle Day though.
