nice weekend...

I love bank holidays (although as John says 'I'm not a bank!' I don't like working on them, dunno if he does).
Saturday Charles II the iPod arrived, and been donwloading stuff to it and rating tunes and pretty happy with it...dunno why my 1-star ratings don't always appear (to delete, so I can rate my podcasts when I've heard them, actually on second thoughts now I have a decent iPod I could actually set up a smart playlist that looks for genre Podcast and played = once - did that with the first Charles but he was a bit dim and didn't record that information...).
Wandered around the Apple store in Regents St today, I bought a little adapter that means I can connect my camera to the iPod and download photos (yay!) but I have to say one thing: 35 quid for a fucking remote? HELLO? APPLE? I don't want a radio just a remote that goes next song and maybe had volume control...you know like the one that you USED TO include free with the first iPods and now expect me to pay extra for?
Gah...didn't get a dock either, 25 quid for one of those universal ones seemed a bit steep. The new MacBooks look like toys...512Mb RAM? On a designated 'Pro' machine? Don't make me *laugh*. Keyboard seemed a little, well, toytown. I expected it to go 'SPELL COLOR!' at any moment. And in that rather yukky kiddie-white. I think I'll keep my money.
Saw my friend David on Sunday and Monday, had dinner and breakfast and a nice time...he was appalled at the anodyne nature of the Test Your Planet / The Nation IQ quiz on last night. So was I, it was shit...I had fun explaining one of the hosts started his career with a hand up a gopher. ;-)
