fingertrouble: (Second Life 3)
[personal profile] fingertrouble

After over 2 years (OMG has it been that long?) I've stopped the weekly DJ sets at the Parkade in Second Life.

No bad reason, no drama, just need to spend time on other stuff (like: finding work, career, photography). I'll probably pop back time to time to DJ for the odd special set ;-)

I recorded the last set, at some point it'll be on Radio Clash. Sad to leave 'Cruise Control' behind, but after 2 years it's time to focus on career and paying gigs. I'm clamping down on creating free stuff, it's great and all, but it doesn't pay the bills - and the bills are the real problem at the moment.

To see some of the great times we had there, you can view the silliness here.

No problem, I recorded it so you'll be able to hear it live. Loads of my Parkade favourites.

I didn't want a 'goodbye' gig, I wanted to go out on a normal Wednesday high.

But I'll be back for special things every once in a while...definitely.

I was in-world last wednesday but just couldn't deal with the lag/crash scenario that would have undoubtedly happened if I went anywhere where there was more than one person. It's been like that for a while. The only time I can enjoy SL is before noon. After a ream of entries in the blog it's still up the spout now. I tried to upload an image (L$10) and it told me I had insufficient funds and I've got about L$700 there. I feel really sorry for people with shops and the like.
Mind you, sorry to have missed your last one and I had some good times.

And you have some of me rocking the horned biker priest look. That was a radical look...that, um...didnt quite work.
Ah, the beauty of SL.

I used to do Second Life a lot but I could never find any large groups of people.

I found the occasional person to chat with but for the most part is was a giant vacant ghost town for me.

I guess I was just in the wrong areas?

Or the wrong timezone...although most people are in the US, there are some UK-based areas...which of course tend to be empty when the US is awake.

Best to join some groups and goto events, there you'll meet people, or goto the big SL events.
