yes I'm sad...

...I'm missing Gerald already.
Who's Gerald??! (shouts those who don't listen to Radio Clash - ow, no need to shout!)
Gerald is my iRiver H340, and replaced the borrowed (DJ) Charles, the iPod. But Gerald is sickly (just like my anthropic naming of things) and the battery keeps dying after 5-10 minutes from full charge, and has developed the 'click of death' on the HD when operated using the power supply, meaning file errors and such gubbins happen if you tranfer files using the PSU (and the battery invariably 'dies' if you don't).
Looks like it's developed a battery memory despite being Li-On (like an Ir-On in Zi-On) and some weird HD-power supply fry out. It'll be back in 10-4 weeks (!!!) and iRiver support is officially CRAP since they never reply to emails so it'll probably be in the 'whenever' range.
I'm in mourning already - sad isn't it? I recorded the shows on it though so it has further, more pressing issues. I might borrow Charles again from John if I can, cos CDs and the little 1Gb T30 only go so far...
Oh and it was great to meet up with
tga at the King's Arms yesterday and err, as the Americans say 'shoot the shit' but in that context it sounds rather pervy. Yes we talked, get your mind out of the gutter...and spoke to John (sp?) also of Night Nurse Show on the phone. Good fun had by all, etc. etc. etc.
Just bought some Grime comps so expect more Gwime (BRAP! BRAP! BRAP!) on the S-O-V errr Show - Run the Road and Run the Road 2, and the KANO LP. Ripping now except for a slight prob with my CD burner that involves sudden PC death black screens...err...
I have some other BIG news but for a select few eyes only ;-)
