I'm aware that the little profile probably doesn't say enough about me - so for some of the backstory goto my (old) bear site http://www.tbaker.org/ - been involved in the bear scene since 1996. Pretty much a Kinsey 6; always been gay since forming attachments to my German teacher (who was cool with it later when I contacted him via Friends Reunited) and earlier Tregard from Knightmare; Mr Shorofsky from Fame (Albert Hague, may he rest in peace) and Brian Blessed in My Family amongst others.

Reading Jeb's blog (arthole) http://www.livejournal.com/users/arthole/437130.html he talked about being a post-bear - I'm not a post-bear, bear gone postal or an ex-bear but certainly I'm not one for scenes or cliques/groups - I'll talk to bears I like but usually they're increasingly replaced by the rugby-shirt wearing clean-shaven Borg...

Partner John is my primary partner of night on 9 years - we don't live together (this could change soon - scary!) but as you guessed from the primary I've a honest poly/open relationship with him; used to have other partners but it's lapsed into a sort of apathetic monogamy with occasional forays from me :-D So play is definitely OK - but as I get older it's maybe less important as it was; I'm more interested in being comfortable and interested in a person rather than getting my rocks off (my right hand does that better than anyone! LOL)

Oh I'm on the BML for many years so recognise a few names from on here...

Outside of bearish stuff I do music; mashups; podcasting - Radio Clash http://www.mutantpop.net/radioclash/ - everyone including bears always welcome, makes me feel that not ALL gay men like hardbag/handbag/trance shite...photography since I started on my Fine Art degree - you can check out my photos here (some bearish, but I do portraiture not the nekkid stuff): www.mutantpop.net/photoblog/ and some at Flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/37582170@N00/ mostly of events I've been involved in or friends are doing. Not as pro as the photos I see here...yikes! Lots of photo & artbears on here it seems...must get back into the Studio portraiture side; I have a Nikon D70 which I abuse loads!

That is all!

I have to be a little tongue-in-cheek about "post-bear" - I'm obviously immersed in bear culture and surrounded by bearish men. It's so marketed here and split into sub-groups. I'm just not interested in all the hoo-ha that goes along with it (flags, t-shirt, teddy bears, bear runs, "Grr, woof!", etc.), but I'll never grow tired of hairy men with stocky frames and facial hair.

Welcome, Tim! I do rememeber you from the old BML (is that actually still running? When I finally unsubscribed a couple of years ago, it seemed like it was beginning to die a slow death.) Although I didn't post all the time, I would comment when a subject pushed my buttons. I used my real name, Jim Daniel, and the email address I used at the time was orlandobear@mindspring.com. Not sure if that rings a bell for you.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy what LJ has to offer. I was a naysayer prior to establishing my own blog, but I quickly grew to love it.

thanks!

Yes I remember you as an old BML hand!

It's still going but the servers died a death (and so did one of the mods, Alex) and seems to have took the list with it - still subbeed but it's very quiet :-( I'm sure it'll pick up.
