Neat freak? - Nope. Not at all. I can live in absolute squalor which drives most queens nuts
Gym bunny? - Never. Ever.
Computer geek? - Yes, I was a geek when it wasn't sexy/acceptable in the 80's, but really outgrew a lot of it and became more interested in other things. Like food. Furry men. Photography. Having a life etc ;-)
Sci-fi geek? - Not really - like Star Trek, don't mind Star Wars, eagerly awaiting Tron Legacy, but foist shows like Alias, B5, Stargate or BSG (modern) or whatever on me I'm SO out of there
Comic book geek? - Old skool only. Hate superheroes, hate DC/Marvel. Like Asterix and british comics, none of this graphic novel shit apart from Watchmen
Fabulous cook? - Terrible but getting better. I can cook a few things that are edible.
Showtunes? - Not really - despise most musicals; I like 20s-40s tunes which usually includes jazz tunes originally for shows and some Disney upto 1960's but most of what people call showtunes ina modern/gay context I hate.
Opera? - No. This has been tested with Parsifal. It wasn't a pretty sight. I ike Handel operas though; and love to see Philip Glass maybe
Midler? - Fuck no.
Streisand? - Fuck no X 10000. Horrible music.
Cher? - Over my dead body. Apart from Sonny & Cher early stuff like 'Sunny' and 'Baby Come Back', you can keep your Gypsy Tramps and Thieves and I Believe.
Madonna? - Yes but only a few songs; mostly 80's Chic ones. Like Kylie I generally don't like her - marmite music
Pull off drag in public? - No.
Pull off pants in public? - I have pulled off more than that, but not usually at a bar ;-) I like getting naked, but not in bars.
Able to quote fabulous movies? - Define fabulous movies? Hmm. Apart from one bit of Priscilla, no. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy TV series - yes.
Witty repartee? - Yes, I think so.
Fashion-forward? - No. to quote a friend 'Fashion is for the weak minded' - oops where did all my friends list go? LOL. :-P I really can't be bothered with fashion, although I admire people who can pull off creative stuff.
Well-groomed? - No. My beard is usually all over the place, and shave my head far too infrequently. Rarely look in the mirror.
Perfect hair? - No.
Good dancer? - Yes - I actually got comments from some other blokes last night praising me on my dancing, which was nice ;-)
Disco bunny? - love disco, the tackier/sicker the better. Disco Suicide!!!!
Bathhouse buddy? - Yes sometimes...rarely do now cos I found that too many people want to have sex unsafely, and I found it far too much temptation so stopped it before I got a status I really didn't want.
Wine connoisseur? - Yes. Love wines, although couldn't spot a wine on taste I know what countries/regions I like.
Fine dining connoisseur? - Yes, via John. He's the real fine dining nut, I tend to tag along and ask for steak and chips, so partly no I guess LOL.
Green thumb? - No. I kill things. John's more the man for this.
Judgmental queen? - About taste in music yes - it amazes me how many people never think about what they like, and make bland choices, and then get annoyed if questioned why (the 'I like what I like' defense). Other stuff less so; I tend to try and stay schtumm really unless people are fucking me off. I can be a bit bitchy when drunk, although almost always never against people I love, and then if I do it's usually accidental - my big mouth and not thinking things through etc. I try very hard not to fall into the bitchy bitter queen stereotype, although my cutting/dry humour can get close to it I never have malice. I hope I succeed.
Buy Perfect gift for perfect occasion? - Sometimes but it takes AGES so I tend to default into not buying or getting stuff I know they'll laike -safe stuff.
Interior decorating? - Can't do it, bores me.
Protest queen? - Sometimes...more online than off. Should do more. Kind of over Prides though, sadly.
Sew/knit? - No. Wish I could sew.
Dated Leigh Chapman? - Who?
So on the basis of that I am mostly straight. Go me.
Neat freak? - Nope. Not at all. I can live in absolute squalor which drives most queens nuts

Date: 2009-08-02 09:40 pm (UTC)Head's up for July 1, 2010 with the London Philharmonic Orchestra Philip Glass’s Violin Concerto meets the world’s first performance of Ravi Shankar’s Symphony!! I would LOVE to see this! (Although It doesn't appear that either Glass or Shankar will perform ... bummer).

Date: 2009-08-02 10:11 pm (UTC)Would love to see Einstein on the Beach, The Civil Wars: A Tree Is Best Measured When It Is Down, or maybe Planet 8 if they ever get restaged...even maybe Satyagraha which I've heard is good but don't know the music of.
Ravi - hmm, must say I'm more a fan of Ananda Shankar, his son. Funky 60's sitar covers of rock music - classic :-D

Date: 2009-08-02 10:34 pm (UTC)Actually Ananda Shankar is Ravi's nephew. Ravi Shankar's well-known offspring is the product of an out of wedlock relationship. Her name is Nora Jones. ;-)

Date: 2009-08-02 10:14 pm (UTC)The Glass staging of Einstein would have to follow the original 'ambient opera' concept - ie you can come and go at any point.

Date: 2009-08-04 05:39 pm (UTC)I'm not sure we can be friends anymore?
New showtunes are infinitely better than the early stuff.
Spring Awakening?
In The Heights?
Next to Normal?
[title of show]?
Amazing.
Oklahoma?
less so.
[to clarify the issue is not disliking showtunes - it's claiming the old stuff is better]
and I am right there with you on judging people based on music taste.

Date: 2009-08-05 09:17 am (UTC)Think 'I get a kick out of you' and 'My heart belongs to Daddy' etc. If you think modern tunes are as good as those, at the height of the jazz age and tunes that still get played 80+ years later - then I can't help you. And yes then you should defriend me...

Date: 2009-08-05 12:23 pm (UTC)I was 100% joking around. I did read what you wrote, and I apologize for getting the wrong years.
I think you took my comment a littttttle bit too seriously, but I aint too worried about it.
I do think that modern tunes are as good as those, though. Though I love the original tunes a hellalot too.
I'm sorry I offended you. Or I guess, I'm sorry it wasn't more clear I was trying to kid you in a friendly manner.
