Primal Scream RAWK

Just come back from the Channel 4 Album Chart Show TV recording (was on the guestlist courtesy of Adrian Pegg - thanks!) and although we had fun laughing at Matt from Busted's new rock direction (Robbie style makeover - CHECK! embarassing bassist with not only asymetrical floppy fring but embarassing Dave Grohl-gone-wrong beard pulling sad sub-'METAL' poses - CHECK! Decent songs...err...cheque waiter!) we (me and Kirk) had a great time rocking out to Primal Scream - new LP may have been a bit panned but they still have it live, especially the madness that was 'Rocks', and the new heavy almost-metal tracks inspired moshing big time which security weirdly broke up (?)
Otherwise it was an odd but happy experience - Morning Runners (sub-sub-Keane meets Supergrass), Matt Willis (see above...oh dear, and it was his birthday too), Richard Hawley - which I and Kirk digged, totally wrong venue but was surprisingly mellow in a The The / Elvis Costello tip...and Primal Scream who did an extended set, yes including Moving on Up which was ace. Bobbie Gillespie looked kind of bored, but then again I think that's just what he does.
Oh and we were woofing at the cute roadie cute - big gray bearded stage manager daddy for me, and the compere (not host) for Kirk...and another guy was very nice.
Oh and since the Metal Show I have a new catchphrase - I keep doing 'Oh SO METAL' in a Suede stylee, and questioning everything with 'Is IT METAL!?!?'...and we were doing the horns and saying 'METALLL!!!!' at every opportunity.
I blame YOU
tga, I really do.
Oh and me and Kirk hope our moshing doesn't appear through the magic of editing during Matt 'the audience was mostly tepid' Ellis's set. That would be SO EMBARASSING...yes they did all the applause and filler shots with people jumping up and down to BRMC's 'Whatever Happened to Rock and Roll'.
Remember that when you see Matt Ellis's set and see people apparently going 'mad for it'. They weren't, mostly...
