fingertrouble: (hmm)

But [livejournal.com profile] tigerbeard has just vocalised in (a sadly friends-only) post why I dislike Apple and it's products. To sum up he was saying how Apple users tend to focus on the it's not as crap as other systems angle, rather than focus on the positives, and he had a nightmare buying a present card from iTunes from Australia to the UK cos their systems can't cope with it, and had the usual happy fun Customer Support experience from Apple (ie. not very). From my bad customer experiences to my endlessly crashing Nano to my pretty yet mostly useless Mini Mac; to the iYawn, I don't really get the point.

Steve's experience with Apple being monolithic and unhelpful is far from unusual experience - one which proApple people always qualify with 'oh you just had a bad one/day/person' - strange thing is there's a lot of bad days/ones/things and they most often than not usually have Apple's name on it...for the amount of bitching about Microsloth who I far from love, I've personally had no hassle with that company at all, or the hardware I've bought from Sony, Sony Ericson, PC manufacturers, iRiver (mostly), Yamaha, Sharp, Pioneer, Numark etc. to the level I've had from Apple.

But of course, I'm just a Apple hater...*rollseyes*

Sure Macs and iPods have strong points - it's why I have an iPod cos compared to the rivals the software sync just works - but funny that people paper over the bad points to point score. All computers suck in my eyes, but when a company actively made my life hell as a customer witha  defective product, I can't look past that...
