Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] cpratt / [livejournal.com profile] gorkabear

1. My username is _____ because ____.

timbearcub, because I used to be called shaggycub but then realised there was about 5 million others; and it's a homonym on my real name...and I am a cub, or was LOL

2. My name is _____ because ______.

Timothy, named after the Saint, because my dad wanted to me have patience as a virtue....that worked. Not.

3. My journal is titled ____ because ____.

"I'm not dead but I do enjoy lying down." is a quote from someone on a forum I frequent (GYBO), - it's true I just enjoy sleeping and don't get enough. "Pacman is dubbin' it" is a quote stolen and mashed from [livejournal.com profile] arthole and a song he likes ;-)

4. My friends page is called ____ because ____.

"More than a think factory" - a slogan from Raymond Scott's Manhattan Research, Inc - early innovators in electronic music. I love Manhattan Research Inc's music and loved the quote - the idea that you're more than some factory cranking it out.

5. My default userpic is ____ because ____.

It's not a pic of me, I hate pretty much 99.9999% of all pics of me, and I like the breakdancing bear.

Basically i'm complicated.
I have a hard time taking the easy way.
I wouldn't call it schizophrenia.
But I'll be at least 2 people today.

If thats ok

And I can go on and on and on... but who cares?

It's deep how you can be so shallow.
And i'm afraid 'cause I have no fear.
And I didn't believe in magic.
Until I watched you disappear.

I wish you where here

And I can go on and on and on... but who cares?

You see, everybody is somebody.
But nobody wants to be themselves.
and If I ever wanted to understand me
I'll have to talk to someone else.

Amazing how much wisdom from Cee-Lo there is in Who Cares? by Gnarls Barkley (and also in Who's Gonna Save My Soul / Neighbours on the new LP - I had it before it was on iTunes, should've played it - oh well)

Interestingly of all the things I moan about, health isn't one of them...I guess you tend to moan about the little things and save the big things for yourself or let them fade into the fabric of your life - it's not like I don't have health issues, having now 2 of what doctors dramatically call 'chronic' conditions. Asthma since I was little, and now eczema. Yes I get conditions that are hard to spell...

Well the latter is relatively new, and seemingly replacing the asthma which is fading away. And is currently making my life hell...done the doctor thing, which was mostly useless (keep taking the cream, well all 5 of them now) and the problem is it's turning me into a virtual recluse - going for a drink or two is fine, clubbing not (a no-so-subliminal hint of the location of the X-Y-Zma is somewhere on this page - let's just say getting sweaty and dancing are two things that will not help it, and don't really sound fun to me) and shagging is a problem. And sleeping. And sitting still. And most of the things that lead to a happy life.

Interesting thing is, unlike asthma which can be deadly, there seems to be little real knowledge about it - my doctor couldn't suggest any other remedies, and when I mention it to people they get that sage look in their eyes, a dim lightbulb lights up and they say 'ooh. Stress.'

Which (apart from the fact that saying it's caused by stress is a bit like saying it's caused by life; not much I can do about that, the stress is most-likely work related and no sign of that diminishing without either drastic lifestyle changes, heavy drugs or starving, or all three - not really an option unless someone wants to pay my rent for a year or so as I retrain or get therapy :-P) ignores the fact that it's just as bad or worse at weekends when stress is less, AND it happily goes all flaky and Singing Detective-like on it's own without any prompt or interruption from me...

I think other factors are at work. I also think eczema is an unknown precisely because it's non-life threatening, but it is life-threatening, it threatens your quality of life. But unless it kills you researchers and doctors are unlikely to do anything about it. Sigh.

So anyone got any suggestions?
