Sorry I know Doctor Who is more fantasy/comedy/fairytale than science fiction, but that episode didn't even make any sense...in the Doctor Who universe (which is fairly surreal/far fetched anyhoos) or otherwise.
Trying to do a Lost and leaving loads of questions doesn't work. When James Corden comes off as the most believable character, I think you have problems. Felt like a domestic Spaced style comedy with a thin sci-fi subplot tacked on.
Nice football/food bits though...domestic Doctor is quite funny.
