Went to Duckie tonight with Greg sardonicbear and had a great time - even put on a veggie BBQ, really good music etc etc.

What amused me was the amount of poofs trying to luck butch in football shirts, such as Brazil, and you just knew they had absolutely NO idea of the teams they were wearing. If I had any knowledge of footie at all I'd go over and shame them...but I don't but still. Puhlease...it's like rugby shirts, you go up and ask 'do you support X' and they have to look down at which shirt they are wearing and get all embarassed...'oh no dear, I just like the pretty colours!'.

Good Grief...

Anyway World Cup starts in a week - anyone got a bunker for me to go hide in for 4 weeks?

It's about as much about football as Eurovision is about music; all this ugly nationalist crap comes out (all these England flags are everywhere now...ugh, not my nation) and I'm being very traitorous and hoping we fail early so the true footy fans can enjoy it but the rest of them can go and do something else without everywhere in the land showing wall-to-wall football with added jingoism.

I find it amusing that people will wear shirts from places they've never been to. Here in Barcelona there are some whose shirts are in English with grammatical or geographical errors. I ask them if they bought the shirt locally (they usually say yes and ask how I know) and tell them why it's incorrect.

You could come to the US. We barely even aware of "soccer" unless the US team wins, then we sortof care - but not really.
