World meet Charles II, Charles II meet the world. Gerald is MIA (RIP, or AWOL running round the factory causing trouble I bet) and the replacement is a nifty 60Gb video iPod.

Yes I know I hate Apple, but the hardware is good even when iTunes is generally shit. Auto-updates are not going to happen in THIS HOUSE, not anywhere a computer I have control over. The iTunes shipped with it seems to be behaving. I've learned my lesson with stuff like that though. Auto updating iTunes nuked Miguel the Mini Mac and the latest iTunes kept popping up to say HELLO! every five fucking seconds, so I'll give that a miss thankyouverymuch.

But it's small, thin, black and sexy (cue dildo joke here) and after the toddler-mini-strop that is little iVer (e.g. "wah! don't like 50 Pound Note/Tracks Up the Tree/Bicyclemark/and most of your podcasts! I won't play them! I shan't! I SHAN'T! I'll swqeam and sqweam and sqweam until I'm sthick! and here have a totally unrelated track instead...") I will finally be able to catch up on the millions and millions of podcasts I missed.

How do you rate tracks on these things btw?

oh it's far more painful than that - 2 months of iRiver/support/runaround hell.

I still have a 260 quid credit note burning a hole cos of my dead H340 iRiver - they don't sell iPods anymore it seems - hence just going out and buying one.

I wish it had been that easy, but various fuckups meant I was decent MP3 playerless for the last 2-3 months!

Feeling a bit inferior in the face of technology are we? Don't fret, you're also very fetching - in a strictly allegedly-straight-bloke to an English chap type of way.

Would it be wrong of me to admit that I lust heavily after Charles's American cousin? Ahhh, 30 Gb, black - the iPod of my dreams (unless they come out with a 20Gb Nano in which case I'll dump the big boy in a second).

I think some media centre type big jobby is on the way - 60Gb iPods are harder to find and some stockists are running out.

I'd guess there's a new one on the way. I bought one, that's what always happens with me - 3 months later a really fancy one comes out.
