Drama Killed the LJ star?
Jun. 3rd, 2011 02:09 pmI think a lot of people have written about how LJ is important, deep, meaningful etc. and I agree with those - but rather glossed over the other side.
I think a lot of people have switched elsewhere not just because of technical issues (let's face it, compared to the likes of Tumblr and Twitter LJ looks like a frumpy old grandfather in comparison) but also drama...yes DRAMA!!!! in all it's internecine internet forms exists everywhere, but it's hard to do on say Tumblr, and posting and setting up a blog is fast and fun.
Ditto Twitter - yes a little more grief is there, but there seems to be less handwringing about blocking people and just moving on. Facebook being more personal is a special example there is more drama there, but still...I do wonder if some of the drama queen behaviour that nearly all of us has at some point taken part in...the infamous and legendary LJ Drama Llama - well I wonder if it's the root of the cause of people moving to other blogging platforms?
So the point is: y'all be nice to each other - cos making people leave just going to cause the demise of the whole shebang in my mind...
