late weekend update
Sep. 5th, 2006 05:03 pmHmm it seemed to be quite a busy weekend...starting with meeting Scott
tga, Rob of Top of the Pops and other podcasters including Regularjen at a London podcaster meetup where they met John for the first time - photos here (why I didn't take any I don't know) http://podcasting.meetup.com/74/photos/
After that and a nice Italian meal round the corner and much drunkenness, on Saturday went to Dover with Greg
sardonicbear and flew kites off the white cliffs of Dover while singing 'Let's Go Fly a Kite' and 'They'll be a bluebird over...' and 'Dover over Clover'. Well I was...classic moment was almost losing the Lidl kite because the factory hadn't tied the end to the plastic handle - obviously a ploy to trap the unwary! We cracked up as it sailed inland, fortunately we got it back...we had a rather windy picnic on the cliffs, some classic pictures posted soon :-D
Disappointed though that the SAGA National Trust centre at the White Cliffs was not called the Vera Lynn Experience Centre, but there was a VERY cute daddy bear walking his puppy who was the manager there...we both swooned, and both out gaydars went off. WOOF! I know who I'd be over on the white cliffs of Dover and it would be him...literally!
Sunday was quite chilled, listening to Foundation (the BBC 1970's Radiophonic bleeptastic version) which I'd never heard - quite interesting but not a female or rounded character in sight (CHECK!) so he's similar to all the other sci-fi authors around that time (1940, but upto 1970s that still was mostly the case).
I recorded podcast #87, the 1980s show FINALLY but haven't edited it due to sheer laziness and tiredness. Got a nice email regarding my discussion about Bob, it's nice to know it touched at least once person...maybe I should talk more about personal matters, I tend to shy away from it, or even edit it out, so the stuff you've heard of any importance other than day to day has leaked through the self-censoring process.
I just don't feel comfortable talking about John or other people? Although I hate that false private/public divide...I dunno.
