MEME: odd godddd
Jun. 10th, 2006 06:54 pmOK it's a meme *ducks*
I usually do them and then ignore it, this one's weird - which Greek god are you.
Was thinking recently (this lunchtime in fact) that the Greek pantheon or Roman pantheons are the ones I feel closest to, but most of the gods and goddess there feel long-dead? Ok at the risk of sounding like a new-age loon, Pan/Bacchus, Silenus, and maybe Dionysus (as a mystery) feel somewhere 'out there' for me, even as concepts, but the rest (Venus, Diana, Zeus etc)...dusty, gone. Voicemail message saying 'permanently out to lunch'. Exit stage left.
Kind of sad that the religions I feel closest to are long gone, so I don't bother at all...my spiritual path or journey is obviously not that one - or isn't ready yet - or will never happen at all. Sounds better than forcing stuff like that, it happens to you rather than the ME! ME! ME! current neo-con/fundy approach where belief is a 24 Hour superstore with all the answers pre-fed to you on aisles 1-33 and the customer service section has frozen evil smiles directing you to said pre-gestated 'answers'.
I wonder if gods and goddesses -if they do exist and my juries' still out on that one = are faith-powered? Like they wither and die if not celebrated, or are purely created by believers (kind of like a faith/global concious meta-object?). Hmm.
The weird thing though, is that Stuart used to always say 'Dream the dreams of Morpheus' as a sign off before I went to bed, when we used to speak regularly on the phone.
Odd.
P.S. I'll try and use the subject line MEME: to warn you and maybe you can filter them out. Memes usually annoy me too, but there's more to this one.
