More Gaza

Some interestingly articles on the differences between US, western and Israeli media - not as obvious as you might think.

"Also from Haaretz, Zvi Barel writes: "Six months ago Israel asked and received a cease-fire from Hamas. It unilaterally violated it when it blew up a tunnel, while still asking Egypt to get the Islamic group to hold its fire." Yet the U.S. media refers that only Hamas violated the ceasefire."

The reported accepted truth might not be as 'truthy' as you think...

This does seem to be one of those things most people are silent on, there's the few noisy ones like me but mostly...nothing. Which given the now land invasion of Gaza and the potential for sheer apocalypse coming from this, well it's surprising, Another set of martyrs and suicide bombers? Just what we need!

Oh and read this blog if you want a first hand report what is happening inside Gaza. Obviously journalist embargos are for those outside, she was already there as an international observer. As is Gazamom, who's father and mother lives there and also uses Twitter.

I'm only silent because I am appalled but unsurprised...and I can't see how it can be remedied. I don't feel I can proffer anything enlightening or constructive.
...beyond my feeling that conflict will remain the denominator throughout mankind and that because of that we will inevitably bring about our own demise.

Happy talky talky happy talk.

As you can imagine, coverage here in Spain is different than the US, even on CNN+. I would say it is a bit more balanced here. Currently the US demonizes Arabs and Muslims and takes a position close to Likud. And in general, Spaniards are very much against using warfare to solve problems.
