Why would this be irritating? in the end it probabaly means more macs being sold.

true, but I've found Apple users tend to be really touchy about stuff like this, macs being marketed as an evangelical / religious thing.

I couldn't really care less, I have to use both for work and Windows/PCs and Macs/OSX and Linux are all equally shit adn annoying and flakey wherever you go.
