Believe me when I say to you,

I hope the russians love their children too....LOL

Yeah as you might have guessed I'm less than hair-on-fire over selling LJ to the Russkis, enough of them in London a few here won't bother me and all the Russians on the breakcore list I am on must be happy.

But that said this post and it's responses is pretty funny in a LJ DRAMA!!! type way, and it does seem they did a cut and run over the fanfic and flagging things, it does indeed take the piss to have a 'party'.

Hmm. Not good to leave LJ in such a mess, methinks. That response does seem very like 'seeya! HAHAHAA!' *cackling while running away*. At least very bad timing...

That said I wouldn't want to be employed to HAVE to pay attention to the worriers, moaners and bleaters on here. Christ it gets a bit much sometimes.

Which part of this thread was the dramafest? I honestly could care less about it, let alone the greater picture which is about who owns LJ. As long as the site is run ethically and there is technical support, what do I care?

Someone else made comment in his journal that this is in tandem with the anticipated evolution of a 'world economy', so it should not surprise anyone all too much.

There are a LOT of Russian people on LJ. I used to belong to [livejournal.com profile] coffee_pictures which I think was created by and is predominated by people in Russia (though, last week, I left the bulk of the communities I was in just to cut back on accumulated Friends Pages and having my journal more rather than less accessible to outsiders).

For now, I'll just watch [livejournal.com profile] lj_2008; no need to join it.

But - but - but - if you don't join, you won't be able to go to their party!!!!

Maybe read the other thread - this has gone down like a lead balloon with some, already angry over the flagging, so calling a party in SF 'to celebrate'.

That thread is VERY flamey believe me - most comments are anti.

Personally I'm not bothered, although SUP's links to the Kremlin are a bit worrying.

WHAT other thread? I guess I am not paying attention to what's going on... not in such great detail, at least. From whatever information I did gather, I made my own social commentary both on my journal and on the [livejournal.com profile] lj_2008 thread.

I read the previous announcement containing news about the LJ system updates, then the one about the sale of LJ to this Russian internet media corporation (or whatever it is) and now this one about the "party" in SFO. Actually, did it go over my head that this entire thread is a JOKE (like, heh, what party?) ??

Oh... wait... this (http://news.livejournal.com/104900.html) was a post in the LJ [livejournal.com profile] news forum. Oops.

Those links are no troublesome to me than the "switch" in SF that captures all net traffic.
