Filter bubbles and idiots
Always bemused by brittle people who blog contentious things, and if you dare criticise what they say (rather than them, but quite often they project *personal* offence) it’s like ‘Get the Fuck Off My Blog!’? Eh?
Uhoh filter bubble? It seems to be common in this age to avoid those who oppose us, or contradict us and get all stompy and throw the toys out. It's not good...for discourse or anything. But it usually shows up how immature they are.
Then again, it's not worth bothering with those people, so it's all meat for my ban list (ironic I know given what I just said, but some people take it to extremes. For instance there's a certain redbearded person here who I find and add to my blocklist on every social media site. It's just peace of mind, since he's a bit of a entitled narcissistic sociopath, like all these airbags tend to be. An echo chamber inside their own head and on their blog/presence. But it's odd - why say it if you expect everyone to agree with you? Narcisstic games, ego trips....I'd rather not).
Funny thing is they quite often pretend to be the bad boys, swaggering and sweary like they don’t care. but then run off whimpering when challenged. Don't talk the talk if you can't walk the walk. And don't say contentious things, then expect *everyone* to agree with you, it's confirmation bias 101. Grow the fuck up.
I'm guessing this is why Twitter followers are called that, and how FB and LJ got it wrong with friends...it sadly seems many people want the former, not the latter.
Anyway LJ Drama is SO 2006...:-P

Weird thing to say if you are someone who has your Twitter locked down as soon as people challenge you even though it's meant to promote your podcast.

I've never shut down people that challenge me - even the biphobia people that took my words and misconstrued them. I have blocked people that have become abusive, like bart_calendar did on LJ, because I don't need to be told to die in a fire, and that I should fuck off.
Ad-hominems are not 'challenging', that's just being a cunt. And I have strong opinions, but nowhere did I personally insult him in my original comment, but he decided to throw the toys out of the pram.
His problem, not mine. And I wasn't trolling....you can read my beliefs about copyright, and a lot of research over at my blog. If I was trolling I'd not have spent 11 years blogging about it?

Seems to me the post said that anyone who held your view could fuck off and then when you stated the view anyway you were surprised when you were told to fuck off.
Also seems pretty cowardly to trash someone here and block them from responding when they have been more than happy to leave your comments up and respond to them on their own blog.

I was talking about Twitter. You seem to be confusing Twitter with Livejournal. Bart or yourself or Twain are not blocked on Twitter. Abuse me there, then you will be. Only blocked bart from commenting here...as your ability to comment shows.
The biphobic stuff was something that happened to me...on Twitter. Many years ago. Because, we were talking about Twitter.
And my blog, my rules. He told me to get the fuck off his blog, and I did.
So I did him a favour and banned him - because if I can't comment on his blog, why would he want to comment on mine? Seems odd behaviour, almost narcissitic.

And the difference is that I didn't do a blog post about you - you did a blog post about me. I would have had no interest in making a comment on your blog if you hadn't done so. And, I have not blocked you at all. Neither has Twain. You can comment all you want. Twain or I might tell you to fuck off, but so what, I find that braver than not letting people see arguments made by other people.
If I had blocked you and deleted your comments I'd get your position, but you have free reign to argue what you will and I'll let your argument stand for itself and let people judge it on their own terms.
And I'm doing that on a blog post that didn't attack you. You won't let me respond under my own name to a blog post you've written that attacks me.
I find that weird,
Bart, The Evil MadMan.

Firstly my Twitter radioclashblog is NOT blocked - as far as I know, anyone can publicly @ me, it's a public account. Whether anyone can DM me, I can't remember what the fuck I set it to. If it isn't then something has gone wrong, but it's a publicly visible account, or should be.
I banned you here, not anywhere else.
My blog, my rules. Your rules said you didn't want me posting on your blog...fine. I stopped. But death threats are not something I take lightly, so I banned you - not twain, no-one else here - from commenting. Because I'm not really interested in what you have to say now after wishing death on me. Funny that..
That post wasn't just about you, unless you have a redbeard all of a sudden...narcissistic to think so. I blog about what happens to me, sometimes. *shrug* I could've made it much more rude, I think my criticism is fair. If general...and it was targeted at you - but others too. You seem strangely brittle to criticism? We all are in our ways, but I was surprised to see you go on the warpath...when you've made great store of being a 'I don't give a fuck' kind of guy. As I said, disappointed. You can't dish it out and then expect the world to cave to your whims, that's not the way it works.
But rant on if it makes you feel better...I actually, personally, truly, do not care.
Feel free to use Radio Clash and the name - I can't stop you and your spies should've told you I stopped a year ago. So not much to 'damage' there. You and twain seem to have a odd preoccupation with numbers, as if creativity is a popularity contest, measured in follows and friends. Note to you: they aren't your friends, and it doesn't mean shit if you have 1,000s of listeners/readers or 3. Keying in your self-worth into numbers is a bad game, I used to do it. Not anymore.
And as I said to whoever the other person is, I didn't troll. I've written on copyright issues for 11 years. Am I an expert? No. Do I think I am the bees knees? No. Am I an artist? Yes. I am trained to be one, whether that means shit I don't know, but I'm the one with the BA Hons in Fine Art, so I think I can call that one. Am I a good artist? Probably not. Then again I've never seen any of your work - so hard for me to insult you over it.
You might differ, but then again you ad-hominem people who disagree with them and get your friends to 'defend' you, it's all a bit high school. Yes I know I blocked you, but again, death threats. You might find them cute, I've had proper homophobic stalkers in the past with threats that would make your toes curl, I'm not going to take that chance, or wake up to find that shit on my blog. Sorry if you feel that's 'censorship' but it's my blog. My rules. You don't get to always speak where you want, you don't get to shout fire in a theatre, and you certainly don't get to wish I'll die in a fire on my blog.
I'm out.

It goes both ways, but you broke that social contract, fucked that 'friendship' so don't be surprised if it doesn't go your way? So you're blocked? Big deal, go live your life elsewhere...your abuse is not welcome here.
With my few friends, and your massive audience over there, that's the truly weird thing: why are you bothered by that? And why am I even responding?
It's all silly. SMH.

I've always had my comments here non-anonymous, and logging IP since the late 00's when casual homophobia was rife on LJ. Now you'd be lucky to get a spam post!

Maybe you are just not popular?

It's quite a useful feature to stop spam...you might want to try it. Tip's free! :-P
Am I popular? Dunno. Don't care. I got over stressing about numbers aeons ago, in my podcasting days. You might see I don't blog much anymore, and when I do it's friends only, and ditto on Twitter, and FB. The public stuff you or your friends are wading through for attack material like obsessives is actually a small portion of what I post. Why? Nothing to do with censorship, or bitching or 'being a coward' I said something about a personal friend once and he took it the wrong way, why my Twitter - the bigger account is private. So I have private and public spaces. Go figure.
