If the extra security checks are random, why do I get pulled over EVERY time?

Can you say 'secret profiling'?

Currently at SFO and foolishly went through the security early. Why foolish? Well I have 2 hours to spend at the gate and there surprisingly is a crap level of shops, bars and cafes. There must be a last minute rush through security judging by the facilities (or lack of them)

I traveled during a Red Elevated and they didn't even LOOK at my passport. So I guess I read as 'good'. (hmmm - potential here...)

Mind you, when I traveled in 1999 to San Francisco, I had a customs guy ask various rude questions and then SNEER when I said I was going to San Francisco to visit a male friend. Oh, if only I had had more time... ;)
