Top of the Pops axed

Not surprising - maybe pop is dead?

Actually funnily enough, working on a mix called that atm - any of you DJs know any anti-industry songs or music about the death of pop music/record industry?

Hey Mr. DJ, I Thought You Said We Had a Deal by They Might Be Giants
Anti-Music Song by The Mountain Goats, though that's more of a "I hate you and your musical taste and you" song
Getting Ahead In The Lucrative Field Of Artist Management by UNKLE

thanks! The UNKLE and the Mountain Goats (isn't that Jandek?) sound cool.

Although I'm political opposed to the use of They Might Be Giants (whiny obscure US college music for US college students) I'll give it a go.

I trust your musical taste, only for you, emotional blackmail etc etc...LOL

Jandek's band was the Units. The Mountain Goats are completely different-they're coherent and almost have melody.

Boris The Sprinkler-My Radio Is Telling Me To Kill (The Guys On My Radio) and Down By Law-Nothing Good On The Radio both on Go-Kart vs. the Corporate Giant Vol. 2
Negativland, of course, but which one? Downloading? Happy Hero?
Bill Hicks-Artistic Roll Call from Rant in E Minor when he talks about "If you do a commercial you're off the artistic roll call forever."
