What Timmy Did...

I've put in one of those live Audioscrobbler feed displays on the Radio Clash blog http://www.mutantpop.net/radioclash/ so you see what a sad bastard I am and what last 10 things I played.

I wish it had a ignore-repeats function, at the moment it looks like I'm psychotically obsessed with my own boots and Syd Barrett's Golden Hair...umm...

New purchases today (I must get some work before I empty my band balance - no this is CD buying treats but it has to stop soon! I did get these second hand tho, and in a sale so each was about £5 or less)

Chumbawamaba - Un > 'On Ebay' and 'Wizard of Menlo Park' might make an appearance on Radio Clash - this is Chumba's last LP and inspired by the great Danbert Nobacon interview over at WHYME which is highly recommended. Not really heard this much yet - been setting up a new external firewire soundcard I've promised myself - all Radio Clashes for the last 6 months have been done on a crappy Realtek internal soundcard - surprisingly good.

Fabric 07 - John Peel > heard Purty Vacant (country cover version of Sex Pistols) on Radio 3 and reminded me to get this and it was in the sales! woo! Good selection, in a very strange tin.

Syd Barrett - Opel > collects loads of rare Syd Barrett demos and rarities, talked about in the Songs in the Key of Z book very highly and this was the 3rd Syd mention in a week when I saw the CD so had to have it. Also I used Slowdive's cover of Golden Hair for one of my ambient tbc boots, one of the few I'm really proud of, with Nina Simone too: http://www.mutantpop.net/go.php?url=42

Chicago Classic House comp > for a forthcoming Classic House mix I'm working on (and can now cue live properly! woohoo!) I wanted a decent copy of Jamie Principle's 'Baby Wants to Ride' and Robert Owens 'Bring Down the Walls' - had them on MP3 and a lot of the rest of this comp on CD already, but it was cheap...
