oh happy joy

Last night, after a really crap and stressful day at work, I get home, and put the wrong key in the lock.

Oh silly me, I think and fish for my other key.

It's not there.

Cue loads of banging on doors, people not being in, taxi trips to landlords to get a  pass key that doesn't work then abandoning ship to Surbiton. I'll probably repeat this tomorrow, as I have very little faith in the landlord getting a copy of the key to me before then.

And my mobile is dead - it opened up to camera mode in my pocket,. so the battery almost died while I was trying to talk to the landlord. and now doesn't seem to want to charge with the borrowed charger. One guess where the numbers for the landlord is...apart from inside my flat, that is.

And now to 'cheer me up'  a work colleague has made the Tom Baker joke. The one I've been plagued with since childhood, and went down like a lead balloon with me. And still working on that project.

Not my worst day, or days, but certainly top 10.

Not my worst day, but certainly top 10.

That really sucks. And not in a good way.

I'm also blessed with a surname capable of generating 'hilarious' and very obvious jokes. It always amazes me that people think they are the first people to think of it.

I find a punch to the throat works.

and there wasn't even any food

I am so sorry for your awful day. And name jokes never go over well with me -- there are lots of variations on my first name and people think they're so clever, as if they're the first to ever think of it.

Coincidentally I had an odd dream that mentioned you. I don't remember most of it, except that an old friend of mine (whom I barely speak to anymore in real life) turned out to be a former classmate of yours. I was really irritated at him, because I'd spoken of your podcast and he never mentioned it before. I considered this a huge insult and stopped talking to him completely. Aren't dreams fantastic?
