So it and the government are inextricably linked, much like Hamas in Palestine. So I'm sure Israel feels justified attacking the government. It's a tricky situation, Hezbollah is also one of the main charity providers in Lebanon and thus has immense public support. I'm sure Israel is hoping that by attacking babies and fuel tanks that it will turn the public against Hezbollah, but I don't know...
Not that I'm justifying any of this. Our (the US - not mine) Israel policy is baffling at best, criminally insane at worst.
