MEME: 7 songs

Hmm I'll join in (grumpily LOL)

1. CRASS: The Greatest Working Class Rip Off - never really got the later shouty political stuff in punk - anarchist etc., but always meant to check out CRASS as I like Chumnbawamba (early stuff as well as later) - a lot of it is a bit too weighed down with political lyrics but this and Do They Owe Us A Living? are great songs as well as being right on politically. Going to be in a mix soon, believe me :-D

2. Peaches: Fuck or Kill - where she says 'I'd rather fuck that kill...better shake your tush or you can impeach my bush' and ending on Impeach - Bush. Excellent

3. The Indelicates - We hate The Kids. Says all I want to say about the music industry, and more. Very truthful.

4. Pet Shop Boys - Flamboyant...revisiting this via Pop Art compilation and [livejournal.com profile] arthole creating a mix with it in. Very up but bitchy portrayal of the likes of Boy George, who is shorter, fatter and less glamorous in person btw.

5. Pet Shop Boys - I'm With Stupid - ditto. On a PSB's kick atm. Is it me or are they taking the piss out of themselves, via a bitchy love song, especially with the last verse?

6. St. Petersburg Ska-Jazz Review - Anarchy in the UK. Great cover, very summery ska track...

7. Grandaddy - Summer Here Kids. Ugh yes, that vocal but the song does sum up how I feel about summer. "Summer here kids, summer here really lies, tourist info said, I'd have a good time..."
